The Secret Behind the Regent Pullover: A Hidden History of Dandy Style

The Regent Pullover is inspired and named after the British Regency era (early 1800s), a period defined by the impeccably tailored style of the Dandy. These fashionable gentlemen, led by figures like Beau Brummell, sought a perfect, streamlined silhouette which is achieved through meticulous fit and flawless posture.

To ensure their expensive coats lay perfectly flat, some men discreetly wore specialized undergarments, or stays (often called a corset), that required lacing. This historical concept, which entails the use of laced tied details for structure and shape is my interpretation and the inspiration behind the Regent Pullover's cable pattern.

Another inspiration comes directly from the Dandy's impeccable attire. I wanted to bring the Regency era's high neck and structured collar with tie into a modern knit, creating a collar that can be worn both as a sophisticated high neck and a more relaxed fold-over style.
