From idea to Ma-Sil Bag
The word Ma-Sil (마실) is Korean for running errands, and that's exactly what this bag is made for. inspired by the cozy, simple moments of childhood trips to the market with my mother. It’s a fun, practical, and nostalgic accessory for your everyday journeys.
It is knit with a chunky cotton yarn to keep it durable, washable, and light.
The bag is begun by knitting the bottom of the bag in a garter stitch rectangle and folding this in half before picking up stitches around the bottom panel, the body is knit in the round in a broken rib stitch. Decreases on the front and back sides of the bag influence the unique shape, while the narrow side of the bag is knit beyond the body to create the handle of the bag.
